BLACKSBURG – Morgan Ketchum and Becca DiNunzio will represent Virginia Tech at the NCAA Raleigh Regional, competing May 8-10 at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.

Hosted by NC State, the 54-hole event will be spread out across three days on the par 72, 6,324-yard layout. Ketchum and DiNunzio will compete against individuals from Chattanooga, James Madison, UNC Wilmington and High Point, in addition to players on the teams that qualified for the regional. Wake Forest, Arizona State, Florida State, TCU, NC State, Purdue, Florida, Arizona, North Texas, Nebraska, Campbell and Richmond are the teams competing at the Raleigh Regional.

Those participating in the tournament will play in all three rounds. Five teams and the top individual on a non-advancing team will move on to the NCAA National Championship, which will take place May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

This season marks the first time Tech will send individual golfers to an NCAA regional. The Hokies narrowly missed competing as a team, having done so in four of the program's eight years.

Ketchum, a freshman from Winston-Salem, N.C., will return to her home state to compete in the tournament. Ketchum produced a team-best 72.62 scoring average in her first season as a Hokie. She finished eighth at the ACC Championship on April 12, recording a 3-under 213 – the best score by a Tech women's golfer at ACCs in program history. She was also co-medalist at the Clemson Invitational on March 23, shooting a season-best 5-under 211.

DiNunzio, a senior from Norfolk, Va., is set to tee it up in an NCAA regional for the third time in her career, but first as an individual. She averaged 73.08 strokes per round, which were second on the team behind Ketchum. DiNunzio placed 24th at the ACC Championship, finishing at 5-over 221. Her best tournament of the year was at the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Tenn., firing a 6-under 207 to finish seventh.

In 2022, DiNunzio competed as part of the team that played in the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional and in 2021 at the NCAA Stanford Regional.

Ketchum and DiNunzio will tee off in the first round on May 8 at 9:50 a.m. ET off the 10th hole. Their tee times on May 9-10 will depend on their scores on previous days.
