First Half Lookback: Virginia Tech vs. Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Virginia Tech football concluded the first half of its third away game of the season against Louisville, trailing the Cardinals 3-14 as they enter the second half.

Kicker John Love, recognized as the No. 25 player of the week, knocked in a 44-yard field goal for the first score of the game, providing the Hokies with some momentum as time expired.

Despite the score, the Hokies showed potential for improvement in the second half, highlighted by promising plays. Quarterback Kyron Drones connected with wide receiver Da'Quan Felton on a 12-yard pass over the middle of Louisville's defense. Running back Bhayshul Tuten also made significant contributions, accumulating 60 rushing yards, with his longest run resulting in a 16-yard gain for a first down. Tuten extended his success with a 14-yard run in the second quarter. Drones also contributed 25 rushing yards to drive the Virginia Tech offense forward. 
 
Tech's defense, currently ranked 20th in the NCAA, has contained Louisville's quarterback, holding him to 83 passing yards.
