Head Coach Brent Pry
Opening Statement:
"I want to thank our players and our coaches. Their resilient effort. When we were 1-3, there was a ton of noise. I mean, there's been some inconsistency, but this group has really just hung together and they've kept working. They've trusted the process. It wasn't easy to get to this point to 6-6. It's a testament to a lot of people. A ton of support. Our fans have been unbelievable. They were unbelievable again here today in Charlottesville. I want to thank them for the effort the entire season. I want to thank the administration, you know, the support. I want to thank our letterman. They poured a lot into this week, sending video messages, we shared with our team. Just unbelievable effort by so many people. I want to thank my wife, Amy, my family, for being supportive. It's not easy. All our coaches' wives. I got a ton of respect for Coach Elliott and UVA."
On the preparations for the matchup:
"We made a strong effort to make sure this group understood what this game really means, what it's about. And not really for UVA, for our group, for our fan base, for Virginia Tech, for all the players that have played in this game. Coach Beamer addressed the team on Wednesday, Coach Foster addressed the team on Thursday. I can't tell you how many video messages we had from former players about this series and this rivalry. We shared those with the team and we had videos each and every day of memorable moments in this game. We got six guys on staff that played here and played in this game and what it meant to them, they shared that with the team. It was a good week of preparation."
Wide Receiver Da'Quan Felton
On the team celebrations after scoring in Scott Stadium:
"It was just a great feeling. Our fans and some of their fans was all on the hill. You know, their fans were talking trash the whole time, whole week leading up this game. So, after we scored, made a play, we just went over there and celebrated with our fans since they took the whole trip out here."
