BLACKSBURG --The Virginia Tech volleyball team could not overcome an opposing Lady Tigers offense Wednesday at home falling to Clemson in straight sets (24-26, 25-27, 27-29).
The loss dropped Virginia Tech's record to 13-15 overall and 3-14 in ACC action.
Cara Lewis finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Hokies attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .450. Defensively, Virginia Tech had two players reach double figures in digs as Iliana Rodriguez had 11 and Brie Siverling had 10.

SET 1 | The Hokies rallied from a seven-point 16-9 hole, including a six-point run at set point to tie the period at 24-24, but Clemson pulled away to win the first set 26-24.
SET 2 | A grueling 27-25 set-two loss put Virginia Tech behind two sets to none in the match, and was the second consecutive set to require extra play to determine a winner. The Hokies dropped a tight second set, losing in a period that was tied seven times and had two lead changes.
SET 3 | Virginia Tech couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Hokies fell in a close set, losing 29-27 in another extended frame, one that was tied 10 times and had five lead changes.
