BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football met with the local media following its practice on Wednesday. Brent Pry started the media availability with the team's status and preparation ahead of Saturday. He was joined by associate head coach J.C. Price and two student-athletes along the offensive and defensive lines.

Read below to see what they had to say.

Head Coach Brent Pry

On changing signals in-game to prevent signal recognition by opponents:
"Yeah, we've had things where we said we need to switch the signaler before we go back out. We'll change who's live on the sideline from series to series, things like that. Yeah, we've had times where we felt like we were pegged and had to make it in-game adjustment."

Defensive Line Coach J.C. Price

On the sack production across the defensive line:
"Well, I think no matter what level it is rushing the passer is a unit-based stat. Even though one guy may get all of the glory, and actually get the sack number and the stats. We constantly preach about four guys rushing as one."

Defensive Lineman Josh Fuga

On the team showing their resilience to reach 4-4:
"It's the same thing like I said during Rutgers. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. As for me, to walk these halls, walk the walls of the facility, to play on the same grass as the guys that I play with, I've seen it. As early, before the season even started, I saw how resilient, how tough, how smart, and how intelligent this team was. It shouldn't be a surprise to anybody that we're in the position we are in. We deserve to be in this position and that's literally from our effort and our attention to detail."

Offensive Lineman Bob Schick

On the team rushing for 300 yards against Syracuse:
"Yeah, I mean we loved it. I loved it. Obviously, we're finally putting stuff together as a whole offense, you know? It's a whole offensive line, we're working hard. The receivers are blocking their heart out too. The quarterback's making good reads and everything. It's just the whole units coming together."
