BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football spoke with the media following its conference game against NC State. Brent Pry appreciated the fans' support and the team's resilience during the contest. Joined by freshman wideout Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw, who scored his first career touchdown.

Read below to see what they had to say.

Head Coach Brent Pry

Opening Statement:
"Obviously not the outcome we hoped for. Didn't play well enough in the first half, particularly on defense, we got behind far too much. Proud of the way the guys continued to fight, battle. And after all of that and some bad stuff, we're still in it at the end, kicking an onside kick to try and tie the thing up or potentially win it. So, resilient effort. We got to do some things better as coaches and players. The first part of that game, they were able to control the ball. They kept us off balance defensively. They ate the clock up, kept our offense off the field. When we got some touches offensively, we were behind enough. We were kind of forced to throw the football."

On Hokie Nation's commitment and support at home:
"But I don't want to lose sight of a sold-out crowd. I appreciate our fans tremendously all year long. The loyalty and commitment there, it takes all of us. It's a feather in our cap to have the fan base that we have. We're going to keep working at this and keep getting better and keep improving. But Lane Stadium, Worsham Field, awesome, awesome college football environment, our players and coaches, we're all very fortunate that's our home turf."

Wide Receiver Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw

On his scoring first touchdown run:
"I mean, I was just talking to a few of my guys about it before we left the locker room. It did nothing but shoot a spark in my head that it was a touchdown as soon as I turned up the field. I remember grabbing the ball and I looked left to turn up and I seen three guys. They were just looking around, shaking their head, they had nobody to block. So, I just knew it was nothing but green grass and I knew Da'Quan Felton was going to take care of the guy up front. So, I'm glad that happened and I'm glad I got in the end zone."
