BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech track & field director Dave Cianelli has announced the 2024 indoor schedule. The Hokies will compete at nine meets throughout the regular season, hosting four home meets at Rector Field House.
Hokies will kick off the new season with two consecutive home weekend meets in Blacksburg, starting with the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 12-13 followed by the Hokie Invitational on Jan. 19-20.
The pole vault squad will travel to State College, Pa. on Jan. 26-27 to compete at the Penn State National Open. Virginia Tech will then host the Doc Hale VT Meet on Feb. 2-3.
The weekend of Feb. 9-10 Tech will be split across three meets. Sprints will travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete at the Tyson Invitational, while distance and throws travels to the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. The jumps group will be in Albuquerque, N.M. to compete at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
The regular season will come to end the weekend of Feb. 16-17. Distance will travel to Boston, Mass. on Feb. 16 to compete at the Boston University DMR. Virginia Tech will host the Virginia Tech Challenge on Feb. 16-17.
Boston College will host the ACC Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-24 in Boston, Mass at The TRACK at New Balance. The Hokies won the men's and women's 2023 and 2022 ACC Indoor Championships. The men's team is looking for their fourth straight indoor championship title, while the women look for their third consecutive win.
The championship season will conclude back in Boston, Mass. on March 8-9 at the NCAA Indoor Championships. At last year's national meet, Tech claimed 10 All-American honors including First Team All-American Kenna Stimmel finishing fourth in the women's pole vault clearing 14' 5.25" (4.40m).
