Nearing the halfway mark of the NFL season, Week 8 is officially in the rearview mirror as Week 9 approaches with a continued presence of former Hokie content. There is much to look forward to considering what former Virginia Tech football players are up to, carrying forward the legacy from their days in Blacksburg.

Notable Week 8 Performances
TE Logan Thomas
Tight end Logan Thomas delivered another solid performance against Philadelphia on Sunday, amassing six receptions for 44 yards, which included a remarkable 16-yard catch. His contribution extended beyond just yards gained, as he made a diving 7-yard catch for his third touchdown of the season, breaking the tied score and propelling the Commanders ahead of the Eagles early in the fourth.
 
K Joey Slye
Kicker Joey Slye made history by breaking Washington's franchise record for the longest field goal, as he successfully booted a 61-yard field goal to give the Commanders a 17-10 lead over their division rival, Philadelphia. This achievement marked a new career high for Slye, who also contributed four additional points to the team's total on Sunday.
 
CB Kendall Fuller
Cornerback Kendall Fuller displayed defensive prowess by registering five total tackles, four of which were solo efforts. Additionally, Fuller achieved his first career fumble recovery, effectively stalling the Eagles' offensive progression in the second half of a closely contested game.
 
LB Divine Deablo
Linebacker Divine Deablo recorded four tackles in Las Vegas' game against Chicago, all of which were solos. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Deablo's coverage abilities have been on the rise, as his coverage grade increased by 17 points, reaching a total of 68.2. New York Giants at Las Vegas Raiders 4:25 p.m. ET – FOX
The New York Giants are traveling to Las Vegas to face their first AFC West opponent in this week's Hokies vs. Hokies matchup. The Raiders' defense includes two former Hokies, Deablo and cornerback Brandon Facyson, who will be pitted against the New York Giants' offense, featuring yet another notable former Hokie.
