Virginia Tech football will face No. 5 Florida State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, marking Tech's second ACC game of the season.
The Hokies and Seminoles have a history dating back to 1955, however, this will be the first matchup between the teams since 2018.

In its season opener against No. 19 Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium, No. 20 Virginia Tech started its season out with a bang, defeating the 'Noles by 21 points. The game was marked by outstanding contributions from the Hokies' special teams, with tight end Chris Cunningham's pivotal block punt that allowed Eric Kumah to catch the deflection and sprint three yards into the end zone, securing the second touchdown of the game. Quarterback Josh Jackson took center stage, putting the nail in the coffin for Virginia Tech late in the fourth quarter with an impressive 49-yard touchdown pass to Kumah. Jackson finished with 207 passing yards and two touchdowns. The Hokies' defense forced five turnovers and recorded four sacks, holding Florida State to just 94 yards and 3 points. Cornerback Caleb Farley intercepted two passes and secured a sack in his collegiate debut, and defensive end Trevon Hill finished with three tackles for loss and two sacks.

ACC Title Game
Dec. 4, 2010 – No. 12 Virginia Tech 44, No. 20 Florida State 33 (Charlotte, N.C.)
Virginia Tech triumphed at Bank of America Stadium, defeating Florida State with a final score of 44-33 and securing its fourth overall ACC championship. The Hokies' quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, delivered a standout performance, dominating offensively by throwing three touchdown passes and adding another 5-yard rushing touchdown. Taylor completed 18 of 28 passes for 263 yards, pairing up with receiver Danny Coale who achieved a career-high 143 receiving yards, including a remarkable 45-yard receiving touchdown. Not to be overshadowed, the Hokies' defense also rose to the occasion, making crucial plays throughout the game. They snatched two interceptions, with defensive back Davon Morgan and linebacker Jeron Gouveia-Winslow providing valuable turnovers for the team.
