BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football met with the local media for its weekly press conference to discuss the upcoming matchup versus Wake Forest.

Read below to see what they had to say.

Head Coach Brent Pry

On Tuten's kickoff return at FSU:
"To cut it to 22-17 after the way the first quarter went, it was awesome. We worked really hard at our return game, and we felt like it's had a chance. It was executed really, really well. It was a counter play that had some really nice blocks in it, and Bhayshul did a great job setting it up. When he had to turn it into fifth gear, right there he did. I think he felt like that guy was on his heels and he got it the distance."

On Tyler Bowen reviewing the first quarter with the entire offense:
"Offensively, we had three straight, three-and-outs to start the game. So, Coach Bowen took the entire unit through those plays. And just showing them, if we do this like we're coached, if we use our technique, if we play with fundamentals, we all see what this play could be, how this could look. And later in the game, it does. So, you're just trying to reinforce the positives and the things we're doing well that, we've got to have it out the gate and more consistently."

Cornerback Mansoor Delane

On what's possible in the second half of the season:
"Even though we lost a couple of games, I see constant improvement. And it's encouraging because I feel like I know what this team has and what we're capable of. We just have to be able to put it all together and it may not happen all in one game, all in one drive. But obviously, we can see what's wrong with the defense. And then try to fix those things and I feel like we could be one top in the ACC. Obviously, that was one ACC game, 1-1 in the ACC. So, I feel like we have all the capability of finishing these last six games on a high note."

Safety Nasir Peoples

On how rehabbing an injury adjusted his approach to playing:
"Back then I felt like it changed my approach a lot. You know, you just appreciate the game more. You get to see even if you're having a bad day. Obviously, you're still thankful for the opportunity you have to come in and be able to work with the guys every day. I say that's the best thing, just going through day by day, knowing, you're grateful for the opportunity to be here."
