ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Virginia Tech women's soccer recorded a 1-0 shutout victory against Navy at the Glen Warner Soccer Facility on Thursday.
Following the win, the Hokies improve their record to 3-1-3 while the Midshipmen suffer their first defeat and drop to 3-1-3.
How it Happened
Virginia Tech struck early on Thursday night, as Natalie Mitchell found the back of the net for her third goal of the year in the fourth minute. Freshman Samantha DeGuzman assisted Mitchell in the goal logging her second assists of the season.
The Hokies headed into the locker room 1-0 at the half. The Midshipmen were unable to make it past the Hokies' defense in the second, playing 42 minutes into the half before taking a single shot.
Virginia Tech held a 20-6 shot advantage over the Navy allowing four shots on goalkeeper Alia Skinner. Skinner recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
