CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech women's soccer battled to a 1-1 draw against Charlotte on Sunday, Sept. 3 at Transamerica Field.
The Hokies' record goes to 2-1-3 and the 49ers to 2-2-2.
How it Happened
Despite a 13-2 shot advantage, the Hokies were unable to walk away with a win versus the Niners, conceding their second goal of the season.
Hokies took the lead 1-0 in the 20th minute of the match as Samantha DeGuzman shot the ball into the top corner of the net, assisted by Lauren Gogal. Tech held a 9-1 shot advantage at the half keeping the Niners scoreless after the first 45 minutes.
With less than five minutes left in the match, Charlotte's Macey Bader scored the equalizer in the 87th minute of the match.
