BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech women's soccer hosted No. 25 Wake Forest on Friday in the ACC home opener dropping a 2-0 decision at Thompson Field.
The Hokies fell to 5-4-3, while the Demon Deacons improved to 8-1-2.
"It was a hard fought match," said head coach Chugger Adair. "I'm disappointed with the result as we were hoping to get more out the match tonight. All credit to Wake Forest, they figured out how to get the result and gutted it out. Our attacking group fell in the final third and we didn't test their goalkeeper enough. We need to come out sharper and be organizing attacking the final third as we move forward in the season."
