HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Virginia Tech football met with the media following its loss on the road to Marshall. Head coach Brent Pry spoke first, followed by players Keonta Jenkins and Kyron Drones.

Read below to see what they had to say.

Head Coach Brent Pry

On trying to establish the running game:
"Yeah, that was a conversation at halftime. Let's reestablish the run and we came out in the third quarter and tried to and couldn't get it going. They tightened up and we were handing the ball off and getting nothing or minus yardage. So we absolutely needed to try and reestablish it there."

On the team needs to be more consistent:
"Yeah, I think we had too many penalties on third down today. We had a couple, we're offsides and then we had the PI. We just can't do those things. I think, they were better than us on third down and that certainly made the difference. We were not good in the first half that way. We got to sustain drives, which we did last week and didn't do this week. But, you know, it's consistency, right? We do things well at times. And then that very same thing, we don't do it well enough, a series later or a quarter later. So, there's signs, that's what I just said to the team. There's signs all over the place of how well we can play. We just got to do it more consistently."

STAR Keonta Jenkins

On the defense's mentality:
"Yeah, we go out there one mindset, one focus. We always worry about us and what we got going on the defensive side. Just to go out there and get a stop, anytime it's our chance to get a stop even with sudden change. So, we just focus on us and going three and out, creating turnovers."

Quarterback Kyron Drones

On building momentum late in the game:
"We had to get everybody to settle down, to lock in on each play. Focus on that play, a six-second mentality that our coaches say. Just focus on each play, one play at a time, you're not going to get it all in one play. You just got to keep chopping wood and then just do whatever you can and just go score."
