CINCINNATI – Daniel Azallion carded a final-round, 2-under 69 to place 15th and guide the Virginia Tech men's golf team at the Bearcat Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at Coldstream Country Club (par 71, 7,279 yards).
The fifth year from Hilton Head Island, S.C., posted a cumulative 1-under 212 (71-72-69) to lead the Tech contingent. VT fired an 11-over 863 (289-288-286) to tie for eighth in the team standings with Little Rock. In addition to Azallion, Charlie Hanson tied for 22nd at 215 (71-72-72) and Kobe Valociek tied for 30th at 216 (72-71-73).
Chattanooga recorded a 14-under 838 (276-283-279) to run away with the team title. Louisville was the runner-up at 6-under 846 (286-277-283).
Sebastian Moss of Louisville claimed the individual title, logging a 12-under 201 (67-69-65). Cincinnati's Connor McNeely fired an 8-under 205 (65-68-72) to take second.
The Hokies return to the links Sunday, Sept. 24 at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational. The Blue Devils will host the two-day event at Duke University Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
