Virginia Tech Athletics to implement SeatGeek’s marketplace integration through Paciolan partnership

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech Athletics has a new provider, SeatGeek, as its official secondary marketplace of the Hokies through its partnership with Pacialon.

Fans of these integrated programs can resell their tickets on SeatGeek with just a tap of the button through its product and barcode integration with Paciolan. So, no more downloading and uploading PDFs. SeatGeek also offers a variety of tools to help fans better price, list, verify and sell their tickets via mobile or web. The integration launch kicks off just in time for the busy fall sports season.

In addition, a new feature this year through Paciolan is ALL-IN-1, allowing fans to add their season ticket to their phone's wallet by only needing to download one ticket for each seat on their account with the ALL-IN-1 pass. Following each game, the ticket will automatically be updated by rotating to the next game.

With the new and improved HokieSports mobile app, fans must update the app on their phone if they are an iOS user, or if they are an Android user, they must redownload the HokieSports app on its own, instead of updating, to be able to download their tickets via Virginia Tech Athletics. Fans can download the HokieSports app here.

"Our collaboration with SeatGeek enhances secondary ticketing services for our teams and their fans this fall," said Kim Damron, president of Paciolan and president of digital & technology for parent company LEARFIELD. "Through the seamless integration of our primary ticketing system with SeatGeek's marketplace platform, we're enabling fans to easily resell their tickets, thereby enriching their game-day experience in stadiums across the country."

Early this year, SeatGeek also announced a marketplace partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) and all thirty of its clubs. On the primary ticketing side, SeatGeek recently signed its sixth NFL partner, the Tennessee Titans, in addition to new deals with PGA of America and LPGA.

"Technology is reshaping how fans engage with their favorite teams on gameday," said Russ D'Souza, co-founder of SeatGeek. "These university partners are creating a new era of engagement and prioritizing the fan. I'm incredibly excited and very proud of how we've been able to onboard so many new partners in a relatively short time."
