BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech men's soccer head coach Mike Brizendine released the team's 2023 fall schedule on Wednesday. The slate includes matchups with eight teams from the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
The Hokies will return to the familiar confines of Sentara Park in Harrisonburg, Va. to begin its season in the JMU Invitational with contests against UCLA (Aug. 24) and Duquesne (Aug. 27). This will be Tech's eighth time competing in the season-opening event. In Virginia Tech's last trip, the Hokies upset No. 1 Marshall, 3-2, on Aug. 29, 2021.
Virginia Tech's first match in Blacksburg comes against Loyola (Md.) on Aug. 31 followed by a meeting with Davidson on Sept. 3. On the ensuing weekend, the Hokies open ACC play at Thompson Field against North Carolina.
Tech's ACC schedule also includes home contests against Boston College (Sept. 22), Notre Dame (Oct. 13) and Virginia (Oct. 20). On the road, the Hokies will face Louisville (Sept. 15), Clemson (Sept. 29), Pitt (Oct. 6) and Duke (Oct. 27).
In the non-conference slate, Virginia Tech will host High Point (Sept. 26), William & Mary (Oct. 10) and Radford (Oct. 24), while making its inaugural trip to Queens (N.C.) on Oct. 17.
Prior to the regular season, the Hokies will face Liberty and Coastal Carolina in a pair of exhibition matches.
