BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech wrestling redshirt sophomore Cooper Flynn makes his international competition debut in Warsaw at the Poland Open this Sunday, July 30. The US U23 national champion is among a strong US contingent that will be competing all weekend with Flynn taking the mat early Sunday morning with streaming available via Sportzona Youtube channel at 5:00 AM EST.

Flynn takes the mat at 57-kilograms on Sunday in his first competition since winning the USA Wrestling U23 world team trials and qualifying to represent the US at the 2023 U23 World Championships this upcoming October in Finland. Hokies wrestlling will be pushing results as available via Twitter on Sunday morning.

The Hokie became the fifth USA world team member when he captured the 57-kilogram title this past June by going 4-0 against the field then dropping the first match in the best of three match series against 2023 NCAA Qualifier Stevo Poulin before battling back with two dominant wins to cap his performance.
