"We are super excited to add Ella to our program and to the Virginia Tech family ," said head coach Chugger Adair. "She has been supporting our team ever since elementary school back when she use to attend some of our games. Ella is somebody who is very strong in possessions being both technical and comfortable playing through all of the lines under pressure. She is an extremely tough defender who doesn't back down and will stand up to anyone. We are looking forward to her impact this season and the seasons to follow at Virginia Tech.
Why did you choose Tech? I chose Tech because it will allow me to play at the highest level while having strong academics. Virginia Tech competes against the best of the best and has felt like the perfect place for me since my first ID camp. Tech has fantastic resources and staff to help me excel on the field and in the classroom. Along with this, the coaches have created an environment that is family and I cannot wait to be a part of it.
What was your favorite thing about your visit? My favorite thing about my visit was being able to meet my future teammates and getting to know the team. I loved staying with the freshmen in the new dorms as well as getting to experience the student athlete life. I also really enjoyed media day and putting on the Tech jersey!
What do you like about the Tech women's soccer program? What I like about the Tech women's soccer program is the environment the coaches and players have created. On the field, everyone gives everything and competes. Off the field, the team has good chemistry, and they are like a family.
What are your soccer strengths? My soccer strengths include my one-on-one defending, ability to read the game, leadership, and competitiveness.
Who is your favorite pro player (why)? My favorite professional player is Tobin Heath. I love how creative and crafty she is on the ball and her ability to take on defenders one-on-one.
What is your most memorable soccer moment (why)? My most memorable soccer was being invited to the USYNT ID Centers. I felt honored to have been invited to play with the best of the best in the Mid-Atlantic. I was able to work with some of the best coaches and players which allowed me to grow my game.
What do you think you will major in (why)? I plan to major in human nutrition, foods, and exercise as I plan to become a physical therapist after college.
What is one thing you would want Tech fans to know about you? I have two dogs named Mia and Stewie as well as a cat named Bentley.
