POSTSEASON HOKIES
This is the Hokies fourth straight NCAA postseason appearance and 12th overall as a program. This will also be the Hokies first time in Athens for a regional. Tech has made back-to-back Super Regional appearances, making the trip to No. 2 UCLA in 2021 and hosting the Blacksburg Regional for the first time in school history in 2022. At both regionals, the Hokies won the first game but fell in the final two, coming up short of Oklahoma City. The only other Super Regional the Hokies have played in was in 2008, advancing past No. 4 Michigan to make the first appearance at the Women's College World Series in school history.
HOKIES VS. TOURNAMENT FIELD
The Hokies are 3-0 over Boston University, with the last time the two teams matched up a 3-1 win in 2010 over the Terriers in Clearwater. Tech's last matchup with Georgia was in 2019, falling 8-0 (5 inn.) to the Bulldogs in Athens. The Hokies are 2-5 against Georgia. This will be the first potential meeting between Virginia Tech and North Carolina Central.
HOME RUN RECORD
The Hokies have hit 97 home runs on the season which ties the program record for most home runs hit in a season. The last time Tech hit 97 home runs was in 2019, in Coach D'Amour's first season at the helm. Bre Peck leads the Hokies with 16.
