Tuesday's baseball game between Tech, JMU canceled by rain

Opens in a new window 2023 Virginia Tech Baseball Schedule

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Due to inclement weather forecast for Tuesday evening in the Harrisonburg, Virginia, area, Tuesday's (May 16) baseball contest between Virginia Tech and James Madison – as scheduled for 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park – has been canceled, as announced by the James Madison athletic department. The game will not be rescheduled.

With Tuesday's cancelation, Virginia Tech (29-19, 11-15 ACC) will look onto its final 2023 regular season series this week at No. 1 Wake Forest. Game times between the Hokies and the Demon Deacons from Thursday, May 18, to Saturday, May 20, are scheduled for 6 p.m., 6 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectfully, at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

As it stands, Virginia Tech occupies 10th place in the ACC standings and is seeking qualification to its third consecutive ACC Baseball Championship. The Hokies' magic number to clinch a conference tournament berth is down to one with Louisville – one Virginia Tech win or one Louisville loss this week will secure Tech's placement in the 12-team field.
