GREENSBORO, N.C. – Six members of the Virginia Tech softball team have been named to the All-ACC Team, as four members land on the Second Team and two members land on the Third Team.
On the Second Team, Kelsey Brown, Emma Lemley, Bre Peck and Emma Ritter each earn a spot, while Jayme Bailey and Cameron Fagan represent Tech on the Third Team.
Leading the team in overall batting average with a .435, Brown also leads the team in conference play with a .480 average. She tallied 24 hits in her 16 ACC games played, including two doubles and 11 runs scored. She struck out only three times in conference play and has stolen five bases. Overall, Brown is a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen bases with 37 hits.
Lemley earns her second straight All-ACC honor, finishing the conference season with 121 strikeouts to lead the league in ACC games. She ended the regular season with a 19-10 overall record with a 10-6 ACC record, including two shutouts. Lemley currently ranks first in the ACC and third nationally with 262 total strikeouts. She also leads the conference in strikeout-to-walk ratio.
The Hokie home run leader Bre Peck earns a spot on the Second Team, recording 15 home runs so far this season, including eight of those in conference play. Peck also led the team with 21 RBI in ACC play, as well as an .806 slugging percentage, adding six doubles and two triples. She currently leads the team with 40 RBI total and 11 doubles, with a .754 slugging percentage.
Ranked first as the toughest to strikeout in the ACC, Emma Ritter finished with a .316 batting average in conference play, adding two doubles and five home runs, as well as 15 RBI. She struck out only three times in ACC games and four times total this season in 167 at bats. Ritter currently leads the Hokies in hits with 61 and is a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen bases.
Bailey posted a .310 batting average in conference play with 22 hits, including two doubles and six home runs. At first base, Bailey has not committed an error all season, recording 268 putouts with six assists. Overall, Bailey is second on the team with 12 home runs, adding 39 RBI and four doubles on the year.
Starting 52 games at second base, Fagan finished conference play with a .317 batting average with 26 hits to lead the Hokies, adding a double, four home runs and 15 RBI. She also scored 12 runs. Overall, Fagan has a .335 average with 10 home runs on the year, including a three-run home run to earn the walk-off win over No. 6 Clemson earlier this season.
