RALEIGH, N.C. – Virginia Tech's Morgan Ketchum carded a 1-under 71 in Wednesday's final round of the Raleigh Regional to finish in red figures for the third straight tournament. The three-day event was hosted by NC State at Lonnie Poole Golf Course (par 72, 6,324 yards).
The Winston-Salem, N.C., native manufactured rounds of 72, 70 and 71 to tally a 3-under 213 and tie for fourth in the field of 66 golfers. It was her second top five finish of the season and third straight top-10 performance. Ketchum delivered her 10th under-par round of the season. She has finished in red figures in seven of her last 10 18-hole rounds. Ketchum accumulated 11 birdies over her 54 holes – tied for fourth-most in the field.
Becca DiNunzio tied for 49th at 15-over 231 (79-78-74). The senior from Norfolk, Va., recorded a pair of birdies on the back nine to make the turn at even-par on Wednesday.
Chattanooga's Dorota Zalewska blistered Lonnie Poole to the tune of a 12-under 204 (69-66-69) to top the individual leaderboard. She also claimed the individual bid to the national championship in Scottsdale, Ariz., later this month. Ranked 85th by Golfstat, Zalewska finished four strokes clear of Julia Misemer of Arizona and Lauren Olivares of NC State.
Arizona, NC State, Wake Forest, TCU and Florida State advanced to nationals by finishing in the top five of the team standings.
