Virginia Tech, Marshall announce midweek schedule changes

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Due to impending weather forecast on Tuesday night for the Charleston, West Virginia, area, Tuesday's (May 2) baseball contest between Virginia Tech and Marshall – as scheduled for 6 p.m. at GoMart Ballpark – has been canceled, as announced by the Marshall athletic department.
 
In addition to Tuesday's cancelation, first pitch of Wednesday's (May 3) game in Blacksburg, Virginia, between the Hokies and the Thundering Herd has been moved up to 4 p.m. (previously 7 p.m.). Wednesday's game at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park will air live on ACC Network Extra.
 
Virginia Tech (25-16, 11-12 ACC) has won six consecutive series meetings against Marshall (16-25, 5-16 Sun Belt), dating back to the 2018 season. The Hokies lead the all-time series against the Thundering Herd, 30-9.
