CONTINUING TO BUILD
The Hokies put together strong performances over this past weekend but we're unable to get over the edge, losing 4-3 to No. 30 Clemson and No. 20 Georgia Tech. Freshman Özlem Uslu shined for Tech going 2-0 in singles headlined by the best win for the Hokies this season over No. 7 Carol Lee of Georgia Tech. Uslu was named ACC Freshman of the Week and moved back into the ITA rankings as the No. 67 player in the nation. Semra Aksu followed suit with a pair of wins, both in straight-sets, including a drubbing of No. 65 Mahak Jain, 7-5, 6-4.

CAVALIERS
Virginia welcomes the Hokies following a three-match win streak putting the 'Hoos at fourth in the conference with a 15-4 record overall and 8-2 ACC mark. Virginia has three athletes ranked in the ITA singles poll lead by No. 57 Julie Adams. The Knoxville, Tenn., native has struggled so far this season but does boast seven wins over nationally ranked foes. Senior Natasha Subhash holds the best record for the Wahoos in singles with an 11-4 mark with five wins against ranked opponents. She was named Co-ACC Player of the Week after securing two crucial doubles points in their 4-3 wins over No. 20 Georgia Tech and No. 30 Clemson, and recording a 2-0 perfect record in both singles and doubles. Virginia swept their ACC homestand last weekend against No. 20 Georgia Tech and No. 30 Clemson with a pair of 4-3 victories.
