BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The No. 18 Virginia Tech Hokies fell in game three to the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles 16-7 in five innings on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Emma Lemley (19-9) started and took the loss in the circle for Virginia Tech (33-15, 12-9), going 1.2 innings and giving up seven runs. Molly Jacobson threw an inning for the Hokies and Lyndsey Grein threw the final 2.1.
Peck's two extra base hits were the highlight of a 2-for-3 day, and included a double, a triple and an RBI. Senior Jayme Bailey also turned in a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Junior Emma Ritter contributed for the Hokies as well, adding a home run and two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Seminoles put up runs in every inning, highlighted by a five-run sixth inning. Kalei Harding, Mack Leonard and Jahni Kerr all had three RBI for Florida State, with Hallie Wacaser and Devyn Flaherty each adding two apiece. The Hokies first scored in the third inning, plating six off of a three-run home run from Bailey, a two-run home run from Ritter and an RBI fielder's choice from Cameron Fagan.
The Seminoles expanded their lead to 16-6 before the Hokies offense pushed across a run on Peck's two-out RBI double, which brought the score to 16-7 in favor of the Seminoles in the bottom of the fifth. Florida State defense would then get the final out to close out the win.

The Hokies are back in action on Tuesday, making the trip to Marshall for a midweek matchup at 3 p.m.
