BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech is headed to Pinehurst, N.C. for this weekend's ACC Men's Golf Championship at The Country Club of North Carolina.
Twelve teams are set to compete beginning Friday, April 21 at the par 72, 7,301-yard layout. Friday will feature 36 holes of continuous stroke play, followed by Saturday's 18-hole final round of stroke play. Upon completion of the 54 holes, the top four teams will advance as the event transitions to a match play format to decide the ACC champion.
Tech, the 11th seed, will be paired with No. 10 seed Notre Dame and No. 12 seed Boston College for Friday's opening two rounds. The Hokies will tee-off Friday between 8:30-9:18 a.m. on hole No. 10. North Carolina, Florida State and Georgia Tech claimed the top three seeds.
Four ACC teams are included in the Golfstat top 25 rankings as of April 12. No. 2 North Carolina leads the way, followed by No. 6 Florida State, No. 12 Georgia Tech and No. 16 Virginia.
One point will be on the line this week for the Commonwealth Clash, presented by Smithfield, as Tech and UVA will battle to be the top finisher following stroke play.
The Hokies' lineup will consist of Daniel Azallion, Kobe Valociek, Drew Brockwell, Charlie Hanson and Cameron Moore.
The 2023 event will mark the eighth time Pinehurst has played host to the ACC Men's Golf Championship and the second time at The Country Club of North Carolina. Wake Forest, the No. 5 seed in the ACC, is the defending champion.
Sunday's semifinal matches and Monday's championship match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ryan Burr (play-by-play) and Steve Scott (analyst) will provide the call.

Commonwealth Clash presented by Smithfield
Smithfield, the presenting sponsor of the Commonwealth Clash, enters its second year sponsoring the friendly, statewide rivalry between Virginia Tech and Virginia. The Country Club of North Carolina
The Country Club of North Carolina (CCNC) was established in 1963 and has hosted numerous large-scale golf events including two USGA championships: the 1980 U.S. Amateur won by Hal Sutton, the 2010 U.S. Girls' Junior won by Doris Chen; and the 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur won by Nick Dunlap. In addition, the Club has hosted seven North Carolina Amateurs and seven Southern Amateurs. It will host the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championships in April of 2023, when the club celebrates its 60th anniversary. Since 2003, it has been a certified member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. The Dogwood Course was designed by Ellis Maples and Willard Byrd and renovated by Kris Spence in 2016. The Cardinal Course, designed by Willard Byrd and Robert Trent Jones Sr., completed a renovation by Arthur Hills in 2002.
