BLACKSBURG – The No. 18/22 Virginia Tech softball team is set for a Top-25 ACC series this weekend, hosting No. 5 Florida State April 20 – 22 at Tech Softball Park. First pitch for game one is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Each game this weekend has a different giveaway for early-attending fans. On Thursday, guests can pick up a free Virginia Tech scrunchie while supplies last. On Friday, early-arriving fans can receive an exclusive orange t-shirt at the promotions table while they last. Fans are also encouraged to wear orange. LAST TIME OUT
Three different Hokies hit home runs to help lead the No. 18 Virginia Tech Hokies over the Radford Highlanders 12-1 on Tuesday in five innings. Sophomore Molly Jacobson (6-2) got the win out of the bullpen for Virginia Tech (33-12). The right-hander went two shutout innings, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out two. Cameron Fagan's two extra base hits were the highlight of a 2-for-2 day, and included a double, a home run, a walk and three RBI. Bre Peck made her contribution with a double, a home run and an RBI. Junior Emma Ritter also helped out for the Hokies, adding a grand slam on the way to five RBI, a new career-high for the junior.
BROWNIE BITS
Since making her return during the Duke series, Kelsey Brown has been leading the Hokies at the plate with a .553 batting average. In her 11 games played, the senior has 21 hits, including two doubles and one RBI. Her slugging percentage sits at .605 and she has 23 total bases. Brown has also been getting it done on the base paths, scoring 13 runs and going a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases.
