Rishko claims ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech's Ella Rishko was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, per a league release.

With a career-high seven goals, Rishko led the Hokies to a 17-7 win over Louisville, marking Tech's third ACC win of the season.

Scoring the most goals by a Virginia Tech player in a game since Paige Petty had seven against William & Mary on March 4, 2020 and the most by a Hokie against an ACC opponent since Petty's seven against Louisville on March 31, 2018, Rishko's record day paced Virginia Tech to its fourth win in five games.

Rishko has scored in nine consecutive games – the longest scoring streak on the team – and has 14 goals in her last three ACC games (No. 7 Boston College, No. 20 Duke and Louisville).

Trailing just Olivia Vergano, Rishko has the second-most goals on the team with 27. That tally is good for third among ACC freshman, as well.

The Hokies are coming off an 8-4 win over Old Dominion on Tuesday and will face No. 19 Clemson on Saturday at noon in Blacksburg.
