BLACKSBURG – The No. 13/17 Virginia Tech softball team returns to Tech Softball Park for a Tuesday matchup with No. 5/5 Tennessee. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
The Hokies went 2-1 over the weekend against Virginia, winning game one 9-8 in eight innings, followed by a 6-5 loss in eight innings in game two. Tech took the series with a 7-0 game three win. Emma Lemley got the win in both game one and three for the Hokies, recording 13 strikeouts and a .183 batting average against. The sophomore now has 19 wins on the season. Along with Kelsey Brown leading the Hokies with a .714 average and 10 hits, Kelsey Bennett hit .625 with two home runs, three RBI and a 1.500 slugging percentage. Jayme Bailey also added a grand slam and five RBI over the weekend.
 
HOME RUN RACE
 
Four different Hokies are at the top of the leader board as far as home runs on the season, with Jayme Bailey and Bre Peck leading the way with 11, and Emma Ritter and Addy Greene not far behind with 10. Bailey and Peck took the lead this past weekend against UVA, with Peck hitting a three-run home run in game one and Bailey hitting a grand slam in game two. Fourteen different Hokies have home runs on the season with 12 of those players with at least two or more.
 
LEMLEY SHUTOUTS
 
Emma Lemley recorded her fourth shutout of the season on Sunday, earning her 19th win of the season with the Hokies 7-0 showing over Virginia. Along with the shutout of Virginia, the sophomore has thrown one against East Carolina, UNCW and NC State. Lemley has 212 strikeouts on the season and also adds two saves to her 19 wins. She leads the team with a .206 opponent batting average.
 
MAROON OUT
 
Tuesday's game against Tennessee will be a maroon out at TSP. The Student Hokie Club will also have maroon flags for students.
 
UP NEXT
 
The Hokies continue ACC play this weekend, making the trip to South Bend for a three-game series against Notre Dame beginning on Friday, April 14.
