THE SERIES

  • Virginia Tech is 10-3 all-time against the Monarchs, however, this will be Kristen Skiera's first clash with Old Dominion in her two years at Tech.
  • Having last met on Feb. 27, 2019, a game in which the Hokies won 23-3, Virginia Tech is riding a three-game win streak in the series. The Hokies are averaging 20.7 goals per game in those contests.
  • The Hokies are 4-2 against Old Dominion in Norfolk.

  • The Hokies are coming off a 17-7 win over Louisville on Saturday, in which Ella Rishko scored a season-high seven goals.
  • Tech had two big runs – 8-0 and 6-0 – in the game that allowed the Hokies to separate themselves for their third ACC win of the season.
  • Sarah Gresham had another lights-out performance with draw controls, hauling in 10 for the third time this season. At 76 draw controls on the season, Gresham now holds Virginia Tech's single-season record for a freshman, surpassing Olivia Vergano's 73 in 2022.
  • Jocelyn Torres had a low-key day in the cage, but made her 100th save of her season (and career) with her first stop.

RISHKO SHINES BRIGHT

  • Freshman Ella Rishko had her second game of the season with 5+ goals, as she put seven past Louisville on Saturday.
  • Her performance was the highest-scoring by a Tech player since March 4, 2020 (Paige Petty vs. William & Mary) and the most by a Tech player against an ACC opponent since March 31, 2018 (Paige Petty vs. Louisville). 
  • Rishko has 14 goals in Tech's last three ACC games.
