Three Hokie divers qualify for NCAA’s

MORGANTOWN – Izzi Mroz, Jacob Fisher and Noah Zawadzki qualified for the 2023 NCAA Championships in all three diving events after placing high during the Zone A Diving Championships in West Virginia.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Hokies had an awesome second day of competition, starting out with Jacob Fisher and Noah Zawadzki qualifying for NCAA's in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events during finals. Zawadzki placed second in the men's 3-meter finals with a score of 759.70, earning his Olympic Trials cut. Fisher finished fifth in the 3-meter finals with a score of 694.75. Izzi Mroz also earned her ticket to NCAA's on day two in the women's 1-meter event, placing fourth in finals with a score of 563.80.

On the last day of competition, Mroz added to her NCAA event lineup, placing second on platform in finals with a score of 504.25. Because of her high place finish, Mroz qualified for the women's 3-meter as well and will compete in all three diving events at NCAA's. 

Finishing off Zones on a high note, Zawadzki placed sixth on platform during day three and Fisher placed seventh, both adding platform to their NCAA lineup since they finished in the top 12.

The women's NCAA Championships will take place in Knoxville from March 15-18. The men's NCAA Championships will take place March 22-25 in Minneapolis.
