GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second straight week, Virginia Tech softball's Emma Lemley has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week. This is her fifth career weekly honor.
Lemley went 3-0 on the weekend, earning her first three ACC wins of the season. The sophomore made the start in games one and three to earn the win and came on in relief in game two to receive the win. Lemley gave up only one run in 16 innings pitched, striking out 24 and walking two. She finished the weekend with a .132 batting average against.
The sophomore threw a two-hit shutout in game one. In game two, the right-hander came on to throw the final three innings, striking out five and not allowing a run. She also earned the win in game three, giving up only three hits.
With 99 strikeouts on the season, Lemley ranks first in the ACC and fourth in the NCAA. She also leads the ACC and is 9th nationally with three shutouts on the season. Her current ERA is 1.86 with a 9-1 overall record.
