Hokie divers looking to qualify for NCAA’s

BLACKSBURG – Six Hokie divers are headed to Morgantown, West Virginia, to compete in the 2023 Zone A Diving Championships. The competition will begin on Monday, March 6, and conclude on Wednesday, March 8.

Izzi Mroz, Peyton Guziec, Miah Fisher and Ava Gilroy will represent the Tech women, while Noah Zawadzki and Jacob Fisher will compete for the men.

All dives, including prelims, will count toward the divers' final score. Divers that qualify for the NCAA Championships in an event are eligible to compete in any other event as long as they finish in the top-12 and achieve a zone qualifying score.

The NCAA consists of five zones. Invite slots vary per zone and are based on the performance of the zone's divers in last year's NCAA Championship. During the season, divers must score a certain mark to compete in their respective zones. Each diver will compete to qualify for an invitation to NCAA Championships.

Live results for the championship are available on DiveMeets.com.

LAST TIME OUT

At championships last year, Noah Zawadzki qualified for NCAA's in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. He placed first in the 1-meter with 761.45 points, seventh in the 3-meter with 675.80 points and eighth in platform with 652.85 points.
