LAST TIME OUT

The Hokies defeated Liberty 9-5 on Tuesday night, the third straight win over the Flames. Prior to Tuesday, the Hokies swept Chattanooga in a three-game series over the weekend. Offensively, the Hokies were led by junior Addy Greene, who went 2-for-4 vs Liberty with a double, a home run and three RBI. Junior Cameron Fagan put together a solid performance as well, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk and two RBI. Sophomore Emma Lemley struck out eight Liberty hitters over seven innings of work to earn her 16th win of the season. Lemley (16-2) went seven innings, giving up five runs, four earned, on six hits and walking three for Virginia Tech.

THE RISE OF ADDY GREENE

Addy Greene has solidified herself in the Hokies lineup this season, after starting in less than half of Tech's games a season ago. Greene has started in 31 of 32 games this season, and is tied for first on the team in home runs with 10, compared to a season ago with only two home runs. She is third on the team in batting average with a .322 and is third on the team in RBI with 24, both a significant progression from last season. The right fielder has a .724 slugging percentage and 28 hits, compared to only 18 hits through all of last season.

200 Ks

Sophomore right-hander Emma Lemley is on pace to reach 200 strikeouts on the season this weekend, sitting at 186 after Tuesday's win over Liberty. As of March 27, Lemley is leading all of NCAA Division I in strikeouts and is fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio with an 11.12. Just a sophomore, Lemley sits at 398 career strikeouts, already ranking top-10 in Virginia Tech history.
