AWENDAW, S.C. — Virginia Tech men's golf fired a 7-under 857 (291-280-286) to place 12th at The Hootie at Bulls Bay, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon. The three-day, 54-hole event was contested at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
East Tennessee State, ranked 41st by Golfstat, compiled an impressive 40-under 824 (269-279-276) to prevail in the team race over New Mexico's 33-under 831 (283-272-276). NC State took home third at -32.
Daniel Azallion and Kobe Valociek both finished in red figures for the tournament at -7 and -1, respectively. Azallion was the lone Hokie to shoot below par each of the three days.
Tech carded a season-best in relation to par at 8-under 280 in the second round, fueled by a pair of 69s by Azallion and Valociek.
Furman's Will Morlan logged an 18-under 198 (67-67-64) to win the individual title over Kentucky's Alex Goff, who finished at -16.
