GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Kenna Stimmel was named ACC Women's Co-Field Performer of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday, March 28.
"Kenna did great," said assistant coach Bob Phillips. "She fought her way out of a little bit of trouble at the 13' 11" bar and then settled in and put up nice clean clears at 14' 3" and 14' 7"."
Stimmel is ranked first in the NCAA after clearing a height of 14' 7.25" (4.45m) in the women's pole vault at the Hokies season opener in Columbia, S.C. Stimmel is currently the only freshman in the NCAA to clear over 14' 0" (4.27m) this season.
The women's pole vault squad will be back in action March 29 - April 1 competing at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
