BLACKSBURG – Beginning a four-game stretch against in-state competition, the Virginia Tech baseball team (14-9, 2-7 ACC) will compete for another midweek sweep on Tuesday, March 28, when it visits VMI (14-11, 1-2 Southern) at Gray-Minor Stadium in Lexington.
 
Tuesday's game between the Hokies and the Keydets will air live on ESPN+ with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. Fans may also listen to Tuesday's game as called on the Virginia Tech Sports Network.

  • Virginia Tech's 11-0 win against VMI on March 22 marked its seventh consecutive head-to-head victory during series history. The Hokies improved to 7-1 against the Keydets during John Szefc's head coaching tenure.

Among pitchers, Kiernan Higgins and Jacob Exum respectively co-lead the Hokies with their six and four scoreless midweek innings pitched.
  • Virginia Tech has won 14 consecutive regular season midweek games, dating back to March 15, 2022 (5-2 defeat at James Madison).
