"We are extremely excited to have Emma join our group," said head coach Chugger Adair. "She is a quality person, a quality player, and someone who is going to fit in really well with our group and the Virginia Tech family. Emma is versatile. She can play both sides of the field, outside back and outside mid positions, with the ability to attack and create goals from those spots. We cannot wait to have her on campus. I am looking for big things from her as she joins our team."
Why did you choose Tech? I chose Tech because I love the campus, and the school spirit! I know I will be challenged on and off the field, and I wanted to go a little bit further from home to branch out and create my own path.
What was your favorite thing about your visit? It was great to stay in the dorms and meet the players. Being in the locker room before the soccer game and experiencing the pre-game environment was pretty cool.
What do you like about the Tech women's soccer program? I like the coaches, the grit built into the team culture, and the style of play.
What are your soccer strengths? I see the whole field and I'm able to distribute the ball to create opportunities. I am able to play several positions and will go wherever needed.
Who is your favorite pro player (why)? Crystal Dunn. She joined the USWNT as a forward, but ended up doing an incredible job as a defender. I admire her versatility as a player.
What is your most memorable soccer moment (why)? Making the playoffs my U17 year in the very competitive Mid-America conference of the GA. We were at the bottom of the conference the year prior and we had something to prove, and we did.
What do you think you will major in (why)? Human Development. I feel like this will provide me with many options in areas of career interest.
What is one thing you would want Tech fans to know about you? I make my own sushi rolls and I would eat sushi at any meal (even breakfast).
