The Hokies didn't have much luck in doubles falling behind in all three matches before eventually conceding the point.
Hugo Maia got Tech on the board cruising to a straight-set victory, 6-1, 6-4, cutting the Irish lead in half, 2-1. Scott Sculley moved his record this season to 5-1 picking up a three set victory, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Jordan Chrysostom battled to keep the Hokies in the match but ultimately fell, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza closed the match with his sixth win on Court 2 for the Hokies this season, 6-7(1), 6-4, 6-4.
