BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech women's golf team is set for its third tournament of the spring when the squad tees it up at the Valspar Invitational hosted by Augusta University, March 11-12.
The 54-hole event will be contested at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. Fourteen teams will compete for the title, headlined by No. 2 Wake Forest. In all, six teams competing this weekend are ranked inside Golfstat's top 25. Tech and Wake Forest will be joined by No. 12 Florida State and No. 24 Duke to represent the ACC contingent in Augusta.
Tech is coming off a 14th-place showing at the Moon Golf Invitational where Becca DiNunzio tied for 42nd at 1-over 217. The Hokies will be represented by DiNunzio, Ginnie Lee, Symone Henriques, Morgan Ketchum and Alyssa Montgomery this weekend. Symran Shah will make her Tech debut as an individual at the tournament.
For Saturday's opening 36 holes, Tech will be paired with Furman and South Florida. A shotgun start is scheduled for 7:45 a.m.
