GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two members of the Virginia Tech swimming and diving teams received ACC honors for the first time this season after their weekend performances at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Carles Coll Marti was honored as the ACC Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week, while Noah Zawadzki was named ACC Men's Co-Diver of the Week.
Carles Coll Marti put up a fight at the Virginia Tech Invite. He set three individual pool records in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM. Alongside his teammates, Coll Marti also helped set two more pool records in the 200 free relay and the 400 medley relay. His 100 breast time of 51.50 swam during the invite is currently the fifth time in the country. Coll Marti also holds the fifth spot in the 200 IM swam during the Ohio State Invitational at 1:42.35.
The Greensboro. N.C. native, Noah Zawadzki, placed first in the men's platform event during the first day of the invitational with a score of 374.30. Keeping up his strong performances, Zawadzki placed second in both the 1-meter diving event with a score of 376.05 and the 3-meter event with a score of 374.60.
KEEP AN EYE OUT
Coll Marti and Zawadzki are set to compete at ACC Championships next week, beginning Tuesday, Feb 14 and concluding Saturday, Feb 18.
