BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech women's golf team heads to the Sunshine State for its 2023 opener, the UCF Challenge, which runs Sunday-Tuesday at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

Eighteen schools will be represented in the field, headlined by No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 11 Mississippi State. In addition to the Hokies and the Demon Deacons, Miami gives the ACC three teams competing at the tournament.

Eagle Creek will be set as a par 72, playing at up to 6,379 yards. Teams will play 18 holes each day beginning Sunday. Tech is paired with Miami and Kansas for the opening round. The pairing will tee-off beginning at 8:30 a.m. off hole 10. Monday will once again offer tee times, while Tuesday will feature a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.

The Hokies will travel Ginnie Lee, Symone Henriques, Morgan Ketchum, Becca DiNunzio and Alyssa Montgomery for their fifth tournament of the season. Tech registered three top-10s in the fall, including a tie for sixth at the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. Ketchum and Henriques both logged a 73.08 scoring average in their four events played.

The Hokie Club and Virginia Tech Women's Golf are challenging Hokie Nation to make a Pledge Per Birdie throughout the 2023 season. To make a pledge or to learn more about the campaign, please click here.
