AUSTIN, Texas -- The No. 10/12 Virginia Tech softball team finished its weekend with a 4-1 win over Abilene Christian. The Hokies hit at least one home run in every game this weekend and now have 27 on the season.

Sophomore Emma Lemley struck out 15 Abilene Christian hitters over seven innings of work, marking her third game this season with 15 or more strikeouts.

In addition to her 15 strikeouts, Lemley (6-1) tossed seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and walking two for Virginia Tech (11-4).

Offensively, the Hokies were paced by junior Addy Greene, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hokies put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Virginia Tech plated two runs when Greene left the yard with freshman Teagan Thrunk aboard.

The Hokies then held the Wildcats scoreless before expanding their lead in the fourth inning. Thrunk came across to score the lone run of the inning for Virginia Tech, which brought the score to 3-0 in favor of the Hokies.

Abilene Christian narrowed Virginia Tech's lead to 3-1 before the Hokies stretched the advantage to 4-1 in the fifth inning on a Wildcat error. The score remained 4-1 for the rest of the game as the defense closed out the win.
