Hokies come home with six top times

Knoxville, Tenn. – The Hokies traveled to Knoxville to compete in a two-day last chance meet at Tennessee, adding six more top times in the women's 50 free and the men's 100 back, 200 back, 200 breast and 200 fly. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Women

Placing seventh in the 100 free during finals, Madelyn Moore finished with a time of 1:03.02. Swimming a 22.18 50 free split, Moore's time is fourth in Hokie history. 

Men

Starting the meet off on a strong note, freshman Landon Gentry swam the 200 fly during a time trial with a final time of 1:42.32, swimming the fourth fastest time at Virginia Tech. 

Joseph Hong finished the men's 200 breast in first place with a time of 1:55.62 which is currently the eighth time in Virginia Tech history. 

During Friday prelims, Forest Webb placed first in the 200 back with a time of 1:40.80, earning the fifth time on the top 10 board. Right behind him in second place, Will Koeppen finished with a time of 1:41.97. Koeppen's time is eighth in Hokie history. Swimming another top time in backstroke, Koeppen placed second during Saturday prelims in the 100 back with a time of 46.36. This time is fifth on Hokies' top 10 board.

UP NEXT

The Hokie men will compete next week on March 3 & 4 during a last chance meet to get qualifying times for the men's NCAA Championships at the end of March.
