CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Growing up in nearby Summerfield, North Carolina, Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley broke the Hokies' career scoring record in her home state Thursday night.
The senior made a pull-up jump shot mid-way through the fourth quarter at No. 22 North Carolina to mark her 1,884th point, passing former teammate Aisha Sheppard's mark of 1,883 points.

Coinciding with Women's History Month in March and the 50th anniversary of Title IX, Virginia Tech Athletics launched a multi-platform brand campaign celebrating the incredible achievements of its female student-athletes, both past and present, while inspiring the next generation of women who aspire to achieve their dreams through athletics.
