BLACKSBURG – With their sights set on snapping a two-game skid, the Hokies welcome in No. 1 North Carolina to Thompson Field on Friday night for Tech's first ACC game of the season.

Virginia Tech lacrosse is using Friday's game to promote The One Love Foundation, which was founded to honor the unnecessary and tragic death of Yeardley Love by engaging young people through compelling, relatable films and honest conversations around healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors.

Giveaways at Friday night's game include: a free t-shirt for the first 150 fans and two pairs of tickets to the men's basketball game on March 4.

ABOUT THE HOKIES…
Virginia Tech dropped its last two games at home against No. 12 James Madison and Mercer. The Hokies have started the season with three solid defensive efforts, conceding only 9.00 goals per game with its veteran defense that features five upperclassmen. Attacking wise, Blair Guy leads the charge for Tech with six goals.

ABOUT THE TAR HEELS…
North Carolina enters this matchup as the No. 1 team in the country and riding a 43-game regular season win streak. The Tar Heels are coming off a 12-5 win over No. 7 Florida, in which they shut out the Gators in the first half. Carolina is led in scoring by junior Reilly Casey, who has nine goals this season.

CLEAR IT OUT
Tech ranks fifth in the country in clearing percentage at 98.0% (49/50), trailing only four teams tied at a perfect 100% clearance rate. This continues the trend of last season when the Hokies led the nation in clearing percentage at 93.5%.

BLAIR GUY'S BIG START
Blair Guy has made an impactful jump in her second year with the Hokies, as she leads the team with six goals through three games. In each game, she's added one more to her previous season high, peaking with a hat trick against Mercer last Sunday.
