SCOUTING THE HURRICANES

  • Miami enters Tuesday's game on a six-game win streak and sits at second place in the ACC standings.
  • The 'Canes boast the league's top scoring numbers, averaging 79.7 points per game. Isaiah Wong leads the squad in scoring with 16.37 points per game, while fellow guard Nijel Pack has the ACC's third-best 3-point percentage at 41.8%.
  • In its six-game win streak that started with a 92-83 triumph over Tech, Miami has shot above 53% from the field in three of the six games and scored no fewer than 78 points along the way.

The Series

  • Miami won this season's first meeting 92-83 in Coral Gables. Both teams shot above 56% from the floor in that game.
  • The Hurricanes lead the all-time series, 26-20. The first game of the series was played on Jan. 10, 2001 in Blacksburg.
  • Tech has won six of the previous 10 head-to-head meetings. The previous five games have been decided by a combined 19 points.
  • Tech is 10-9 all-time against Miami in Blacksburg, following a 78-75 setback last season on a Charlie Moore halfcourt heave at the buzzer.

HOKIE HEADLINES

  • Grant Basile has scored double figures in 11 straight games. He has broken the 20-point mark in six of the last eight contests, including the last four.
  • Over the last eight games, Basile is averaging 23.6 points per game. Basile is one of four ACC players averaging at least 18 points per game in conference play.
  • Basile (seventh) and Sean Pedulla (14th) give the Hokies two of the top 14 scorers in the ACC.
  • Hunter Cattoor is first in the league in 3FG% at 43.4% (59-136).
  • Mylyjael Poteat netted a season-high 15 points vs. Pitt.

STREAK SNAPPERS

  • The Hokies will get their second straight opportunity at snapping a six-game win streak when the 13th-ranked Hurricanes visit Cassell.
  • Tech halted Pitt's six-game win streak on Saturday, which was the ACC's longest active streak at the time. Now, that belongs to Miami.
  • When the Hokies knocked off No. 6 Virginia on Feb. 4, they derailed a seven-game win streak by the Cavaliers.

UP NEXT

  • The Hokies will hit the road for their final two road games of the regular season, starting with Duke at 8 p.m. in Durham, N.C. on Saturday, Feb. 25.
