HOLDING FORM
The Hokies come into this weekends slate sitting at 6-1 after splitting a pair of matches going on the road against Charlotte before coming home to face ECU. Tech gave Charlotte everything they had but came up just short in a back and forth match that the Hokies dropped, 3-4. In less than 24 hours, Terry-Ann and Co. responded with a dominant performance breezing through to a doubles point before earning all three singles points in straight sets en route to a 4-0 victory. Tamara Barad Itzhaki has lead the charge with a perfect 6-0 record in singles paired with a 5-1 record in doubles alongside Semra Aksu.
FLAMES
Liberty comes blazing into Blacksburg sitting at 7-2 winning two of their three matches this past weekend. Junior Esther Lovato picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win in the Flames sweep against Norfolk State to improve her singles record to 16-1 on the season. Liberty found themselves on the other end of a sweep in the second match of their home doubleheader against Maryland, losing 0-4. To close the weekend, the Flames added another sweep behind a double bagel from their No. 1 singles player Maria Juliana Parra Romero.
MOUNTAINEERS
West Virginia aims to continue their winning ways after going 2-0 last weekend at home against in-state rival Marshall and Mount St. Mary's. The 'Neers were fueled by a late rally against Marshall capped off by fifth-year senior Pei-ju Hsieh earning a straight set victory on Court 5 to edge The Herd. It was much smoother sailing in the second match of the weekend for WVU against Mount St. Mary's cruising to a 6-1 victory. Junior Momoko Nagato leads things for West Virginia in singles with a 5-2 mark.
