SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Virginia Tech men's golf team placed 15th at the season-opening Fighting Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame, Sunday-Monday, at the par 70, 7,023-yard Warren Golf Course.

The Hokies carded an 875 (289-295-291) over the 54-hole event. Florida withstood a furious rally by Georgia Southern in Monday's final round to claim the team title. Preseason No. 1 North Carolina was third at 19-under 821, followed by Notre Dame (824) and Colorado (833).
